SPES:
Out of the eight rules presented by Kurt Vonnegut in "How to write with style" I found finding a subject you care about to be the most necessary for good style in literature. In his second sentence of this section he proves my statement, "It is this genuine caring, and not your games with language, which will be the most compelling and seductive element in your style." He is explaining, finding something you are passionate about will insure to keep your audience enticed in what you are writing. I think Kurt makes an excellent point there as a reader who feels you do not care about what you are writing will more than likely tune you out and have a bad opinion of your writing. Therefore, writing something you care about is essential to a good writing style.
